இவர்கள் இன்னமும் இருக்கின்றார்கள்
சென்ற நூற்றாண்டில் தமிழ் மண் தரணிக்கு வழங்கிய மகத்தானவர்களின் மகோன்னத வரலாறு. மறைந்த இசை அமைப்பாளர் திரு.எம்.பி.சீனிவாசன் அவர்களைப் பற்றிய கவிஞர் வாலியின் அழகிய கவிதை இதோ:
‘திரைத்
துறையில் உள்ள –
இசைக் கலைஞருக்கெல்லாம்
இவர்தான் –
இன்றைக்கும் இதய தெய்வம்; நாங்கள் –
வாழுநாள் வரை – இவரை
வணங்குதல் செய்வம் !’
என்று –
என்னிடம் –
படத்துறையில்
பணிபுரியும் –
அனேக இசைக்கலைஞர்கள்
அந்தரங்க சுத்தியாக –
இவரைப் பற்றி –
இயம்பியது உண்டு;
அன்னணம்
அவர்கள் –
கூறிய
கூற்றை…
வழிமொழிகிறேன் நானும் – அது
வாய்மை என்பதைக் கண்டு!

நெருங்கிய –
நண்பர்களால்…
‘வாசு’ என்று
விளிக்கப் பெற்ற –
எம்.பி.சீனிவாசன
எளியவர்களின் தந்தை;
சிவப்புச்
சிந்தனைகள்
மேலோங்க நின்றது – அந்த
மாமனிதனின் சிந்தை!
நால் வருணத்தில் –
மேல் வருணம் எனப்படும் –
குலத்தில் பிறந்தும் – அவர்
குலம் கோத்திரங்களை –
வெறுத்தவர்; கொள்கை
வாளால் அவற்றை ஒறுத்தவர்!

ஜயகாந்தனின் சிந்தனையில் –
ஜனித்த…
‘தென்னங்கீற்று
ஊஞ்சலிலே…’
என்ற
ஏரார்ந்த பாட்டும்;
பொதுவுடைமைக் கட்சியின் –
புகழ்சால் கவிஞர் –
கண்ணியம் மிகுந்த
கே.சி.எஸ்.அருணாச்சலம்
ஆக்கி
அளித்த…
‘சின்னச்சின்ன
மூக்குத்தியாம்;
சிகப்புக்கல்லு
மூக்குத்தியாம்!’
எனும்
ஏற்றமிகு பாட்டும் ;
‘பாதை தெரியுது பார்’ எனும் –
படத்தில் இடம் பெற்று –
பட்டி தொட்டியெல்லாம்
பரவி நின்றது;
அந்த
அற்புத பாடல்களுக்கு –
இனிய
இசை –
ஏழை பங்காளன்
எம்.பி.சீனிவாசன் தந்தது!

கட்சியின் பால் –
எஞ்ஞான்றும் காதல் கொண்ட
எம்.பி.சீனிவாசன்..
இணையற்ற
இசை விற்பன்னரும் கூட;
பல படங்களில் –
அவரது
அளப்பரும் இசைஞானம்…
வெளிப்போந்து
வருடியிருக்கிறது –
நம்
நெஞ்சங்களை –
நாடி
நரம்புகளில் –
உவகைப் பெருக்கொன்று
ஊற்றெடுத்து ஓட!

இன்றும் –
இன்தமிழிலும் மலையாளத்திலும்..
எத்துணையோ படங்கள்
எம்.பி.சீனிவாசனின் –
மெல்லிசை
மேதமையை –
நமக்கு
நினைவூட்டி மகிழ்விக்கும்;
அவரது இசை
ஆர்நெஞ்சையும் நெகிழ்விக்கும்!

படத்துறையில்
பங்குபற்றும் எவரும்..
தனக்கென வாழ்கையில் –
தோழர் சீனிவாசன் மட்டுமே –
ஊர்க்கென
வாழ்ந்தார்;
உதிரத்தில்
ஊறியிருந்த –
பொதுவுடைமைச் சித்தாந்தத்தில்
பொழுதும் ஆழ்ந்தார்!
விரல் வலிக்க –
வயலின் வாசிப்பவர்களுக்கும் ;
குரல்வலிக்க
கானம் இசைப்பவர்களுக்கும்;
உடனுக்குடன்
ஊதியம் வழங்கப்படாத –
அவல நிலையை
அவர்தான் மாற்றினார்;
இருந்த
இசைக் கலைஞர்களையெல்லாம்…
ஒன்று சேர்த்து
ஒரு சங்கம் நிறுவி –
சங்கீத
சிற்பிகளின் –
வாழ்வில் –
விளக்கு ஏற்றினார்!
அதனால் –
அவர் …
பல
படாதிபதிகளின் –
அர்த்தமற்ற கோபத்திற்கு
ஆளானார்; அவருக்கு –
வருகின்ற
வாய்ப்புகள் -அவர்களால்
குறைந்தபோதும் -அதுபற்றிக்
கிஞ்சித்தும் கவலைப்படாது…
வாடிய கலைஞர்களின் –
வறுமையைச் சாய்க்கும் வாளானார்!

என்னும்..
மா மனிதன்
மதங்களைக் கடந்தவர்;
ஏற்ற கொள்கைவழி – சிங்க
ஏறென நடந்தவர்!
ஷைபுதீன் கிச்சுலூ – எனும்
சுதந்திர போராட்ட வீரரின்…
மகளை …
மணம் முடித்தார் –
மறையவர் குலத்தில்
முளைத்த சீனிவாசன்;
அவரினும்
ஆர் உளர்
அனைத்து உயிர்க்கும்
அன்பு காட்டும் சிறந்த நேசன்!

தண்ணிழல் தரும் தருவாக!

வானுலகுக்கும் அவர் சேவை –

‘For all the musicians in film industry
he remains
to date
a dear God; till
our last day – we
shall worship him!’
So
had confessed to me
many musicians in the film industry
Having realised that
what they said was true
here restate it
I too
…
“Vasu” to friends dear and near
M.B. Sreenivasan was godfather
to the poor folk from the lowest tier;
predominant was Communist philosophy
in the thoughts of that great personality!
Though born of upper of the four castes
he detested the division by creed or caste;
with his principles away them he cast!
…
“Thennangeetru oonjaliley”
(In the swinging coconut frond) –
a song penned by T. Jeyakanthan
and “Chinnachchinna mookkuththiyaam;
Sigappukkallu mookkuththiyaam”
(a teeny-weeny nose stud;
a red stoned nose stud) penned by the
famous poet K.C.S.Arunachalam that
figured in the film “Paadhai Theriyudhu
Paar” (The Path is visible, see!) became
famous in every nook and corner;
the music for those wonderful melodies
was composed by M.B.Sreenivasan! …

For one in eternal love
with the Communist Party
M.B.Sreenivasan
was a musical maestro
unparalleled too;
his immeasurable musical talent
exhibited in many films
has touched our hearts
so, so gently –
setting off a flood of ecstasy
stream through pulsating nerves!
Till now,
In Tamil and Malayalam,
there are countless films
that gladly keep reminding us
of the musical genius of
M.B.Sreenivasan;
and his music continues to melt
even hearts that never felt!

When others in the
Film industry
Lived for their own selves
Comrade Sreenivasan alone
Lived for the society;
Communism was so soaked in his blood and body
that his time and life was communist philosophy!
For those who played the violin
Much as the strings would hurt their fingertips
And those who sang straining their vocal chords
But not paid wages on the spot, on time
It was he who changed all that horrendous time;
He formed a union
of all the musicians
and lit up the lives
of the music sculptors!
And hence, he was the target of the
meaningless anger
of many a filmmaker; though his opportunities
for composing music were affected by them,
he was bothered little
but relentless pursued his fight against
exploitation of the artists and showed his mettle!

MBS was a great persona who crossed religion;
He was steadfast in his principled beliefs like a lion!
Born a Brahmin, he married the daughter
of Dr Saifuddin Kitchlew, a muslim;
who else but he
could have shown that love would be
for all beings, equality!
M.B. Sreenivasan switched on the light
It still reverberates with the music bright
at Vadapalani – The Cine Musicians Union
a magnificent symbol of strength and support for the worker
like a huge tree offering its cool shade in summer!

MBS breathed his last
while a visit to Kavaratti in Lakshadweep
Death, perhaps, felt that eternity fast
needed his music for the Heavens to keep!
